Position Summary: Office of Admissions. Reporting to the Associate Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Transfer Recruitment manages the transfer recruitment team and assists in the development and implementation of a strategic plan to increase and sustain transfer student enrollment at Georgia Southern University.
Cultivates and maintains relationships with staff and faculty at two-year colleges in Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, and Tennessee, making visits to colleges each semester.
Serves as the University advocate for transfer students and maintains strong on-campus relationships with Academic Advising, Student Success, the Registrar, and the Provost's offices.
Trains, supervises, and mentors transfer admissions counselors.
Assists with the planning and implementation of all transfer-related recruitment events (on- and off -campus).
Attends off-campus transfer college fairs and community events.
Serves as counselor-on-call and presents information sessions to prospective students as needed.
Works with online lead generation services to expand the transfer prospect pool.
Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with the Military and Veterans Affairs offices to ensure our service members have a smooth transfer experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
Preferred Education: Master’s Degree in Higher Education or related field
Preferred Experience:: Working knowledge of admissions operational procedures at a Banner institution; experience working at a University System of Georgia institution; interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with college administrators at technical, two-year, and community college.
