Required Qualifications: Experience developing or administering student development programs.
Experience designing and facilitating workshops, trainings, and/or retreats.
Demonstrated effectiveness advising student organizations and ability to work with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff.
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills to quickly and accurately produce letters, memos, reports, and other publications.
Professional demeanor. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft office software and computer aided technology.
Ability to coordinate a variety of work activities and work as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in communication, psychology, education or related field plus two or more years experience working with students and student organizations in an advisory capacity. Additional consideration will be given to applicants who possess a Masters Degree in Student Personnel or related program.
Experience in student recruitment, training and supervision.
Demonstrated knowledge of group dynamics and organizational leadership.
Experience facilitating programs focusing on leadership education in a university setting.
Experience building partnerships and collaboration across departments in a university setting.
Experience with program assessment and evaluation.
Experience with social media outreach and marketing.

Job Description: Serve as leadership educator for the Leadership Institute at Texas State. Responsibilities include assisting in the development and coordination leadership development opportunities for Texas State students, facilitating leadership trainings and workshops, reviewing/developing print and web publications/information, coordinating departmental marketing and outreach, drafting and reviewing department correspondence, and assisting with special projects
Job Duties: Assist in the development of large-scale leadership education programs in the Leadership Institute. Conduct leadership workshops and training sessions, and recruit speakers and student participants. Develop partnerships and collaborations across Texas State departments and build community relationships to coordinate leadership education and development programs campus wide. Advise student and student organizations in leadership, program planning, interpretation of institutional rules as they apply to student organizations, and risk management. Recruit, train and supervise student employees. Coordinate the development and review of department marketing materials. Maintain the Leadership Institute website with new and up-to-date content, and conduct social media outreach and marketing across multiple platforms. Assist in the dissemination of leadership information through websites, publications, presentations, workshops and experiential activities. Prepare and review department publications and written correspondence. Because of programming responsibilities, the individual selected must be qualified to drive a university vehicle as well as have reliable transportation to pick up/drop off supplies and individuals as necessary. Examples include pickup of food and supplies locally; pick up/drop off individuals from airport; transport groups to/from conferences or excursions.
Assist with special projects in the Dean of Students Office and other duties as assigned
