University Housing at Coastal Carolina University seeks dynamic individuals for the position of Assistant Director for Recruitment and Selection (Student Services Program Coordinator II) reporting to the Associate Director of Resident Success. University Housing is experiencing exciting and rapid growth. With the opening of four new residence halls over the past three years, University Housing is home to more than 4600 students.

The Assistant Director for Recruitment and Selection will serve as a mid-level professional reporting to the Associate Director for Resident Success and works directly with the University Housing staff to fulfill the goals and mission of University Housing. This position’s primary role is to implement and oversee University Housing’s comprehensive student staff selection processes while also serving as the primary contact to the student staff alternate pools. University Housing employs approximately 250 student staff, serving in roles such as Resident Adviser, Conference Assistants, Desk Assistants, Desk Managers, Custodial Assistants, Maintenance and other operations assistants. This Assistant Director will also directly supervise a full-time Resident Success Specialist (RSS) – Student Employment.
Duties include, but are not limited to: managing department-wide student staff applications, interviews, evaluations, selection, and payroll integration; managing student staff onboarding and separation; developing and implementing marketing strategies; collaborating with a variety of constituents; and promoting excellent customer service.
Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Student Affairs, or Higher Education Administration and three (3) years of related professional experience in a university or college student housing setting is required; five (5) or more years of related professional experience is preferred. A successful candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills with public presentation ability. Additional preferred experience includes prior on-campus housing residence hall living experience, experience marketing and advertising employment opportunities to college students, and experience facilitating large-scale Resident Adviser interview programs.
