General Statement of Duties: To create and maintain a cultural, social, and academic environment to facilitate the growth and development of the individual student by offering a range of student activities services. The Coordinator of Student Programs, Clubs, and Organizations will be part of Student Development team that offers programs and services for all students at Fitchburg State University.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Create, implement, and sustain extra-curricular and co-curricular programs (Social, Non-Academic, Academic) for both residential and commuter students, while collaborating with clubs, organizations, faculty and staff;
Advise the Fitchburg Activities Board (FAB), supporting the growth of existing and new programming ideas;
Explore and implement late night programming efforts, including Thursday nights;
Provide outreach to our Non-Traditional students—offering programs;
Collaborate with FAB, Commuter Affairs, Clubs, Organizations, Housing & Residential Services, Faculty, and Staff to increase programming efforts on the weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday);
Introduce and implement assessment efforts for program and activities;
Support FSU clubs and organizations, increasing collaborative efforts and serving as a resource;
Manage club and organization policies & procedures including, but not limited to, resource guide, advisor manual, rosters, anti-hazing compliance forms, and risk and release;
Coordinate, manage, and train all OrgSync functions;
Manage budget and monitor program expenditures;
Support all campus wide events, such as, but not limited to, Open Houses, Orientation, and Homecoming;
Participate in event coverage when necessary, including evenings and weekends, and;
Other duties as assigned.
Master’s degree in student personnel or related field preferred, Bachelor’s degree required with appropriate documented experience.
Knowledge of student development and operation practices and procedures;
Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
Student/group leadership experience required with student staff supervision experience desirable.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse constituent base: including students, parents, Fitchburg State Employees, and outside vendors;
Computer skills and familiarity with various software programs and;
Ability to perform above duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to satisfactorily pass a check conducted by the Criminal History Systems Board (CORI) as well as a completed background check satisfactory to the university.
