General Statement of Duties: To create and maintain a cultural, social, and academic environment to facilitate the growth and development of the individual student by offering a range of student involvement and leadership activities. The Coordinator of Greek Life and Student Leadership will be part of Student Development team that offers programs and services for the commuter students at Fitchburg State University.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for overall leadership, direction, and coordination of Greek Life, advising Greek Council, Panhellenic, IFC, and their subcommittees;
Offer on-going training for our Greek organizations and attend Greek Life conferences and workshops;
Maintain proper records for all Greek Organizations, including but not limited to grade checks, sorority and fraternity new member records;
Create, maintain, and enforce Fraternity (IFC) and Sorority (Panhellenic) policies;
Build and manage all aspects of a co-curricular leadership development program for the Fitchburg State University community;
Advise the leadership council, create and implement leadership programs, and actively promote the Falcon Leadership Program;
Partner with faculty to engage with co-curricular experiences and identify ways to tie the leadership program with the curriculum;
Provide training and development opportunities for all clubs and organizations, including, but not limited to, fall e-board and advisor training;
Support club and organization advisors;
Introduce and implement assessment efforts for Greek Life, leadership programs, clubs & organizations;
Manage budgets and monitor program expenditures;
Support all campus wide events, such as, but not limited to, Open Houses, Orientation, and Homecoming;
Participate in event coverage when necessary, including evenings and weekends;
Other duties as assigned
Master’s degree in student personnel or related field preferred, Bachelor’s degree required with appropriate documented experience.
Knowledge of student development and operation practices and procedures;
Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and excellent time management skills;
Student/group leadership experience required with student staff supervision experience desirable.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse constituent base: including students, parents, Fitchburg State Employees, and outside vendors;
Computer skills and familiarity with various software programs and;
Ability to perform above duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to satisfactorily pass a check conducted by the Criminal History Systems Board (CORI) as well as a completed background check satisfactory to the university.
Additional Salary Information: Salary is based on this 10 month position.
