Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Business Operations, the Operating Systems Analyst/Programmer provides on-going technical and analytical support, and programming for Housing Management Information Systems, Housing Intranet, Inventory Management System, Data Asset Management, web applications and other housing software solutions.
The Operating Systems Analyst/Programmer is responsible for code development, conducting research to resolve complex computing problems as well as developing APIs to integrate various applications. The incumbent will collaborate with the Enterprise Technology Services Office on technology matters such as software package selection, software-as-a-service providers, technical solution approaches, technical architecture, and technical integrations.
The incumbent will follow campus and Division processes and procedures regarding software development, software standards, software source control, information security standards, and solution and code reviews. Additionally, this position will coordinate and implement system modifications, create documentation, develop training material and training programs for end users, and participate in strategic planning of system enhancements.
To enter this classification, a basic foundation of knowledge and skills in operating systems programs, maintenance, and systems administration features is a prerequisite. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent technical training and/or experience. Foundation knowledge and skills for the Operating Systems Analyst include a working knowledge of the assigned computer operating systems, systems analysis, and systems-level programming.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
Knowledge and understanding of Relational Database such as MS. SQL.
Knowledge of API and Web Services.
Knowledge of .NET.
Json and XML.
Knowledge of Markdown.
Experience with Active Directory and LDAP.
Working knowledge of Microsoft development technologies such as Visual Studio,ASP.NET, PowerShell, and C#.
Knowledge of .NET technologies and SQL Server.
Ability to use and knowledge of Microsoft Cloud and Azure offerings as well as Azure PowerShell experience.
Five years of progressively responsible experience directly related to the position.

One year professional experience in an organization that serves students.
One year Professional experience in a housing administration organization.
Experience with MAC operating systems.
