The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a Coordinator of Veteran Student Affairs position. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio, located in Blue Ash, Ohio with an enrollment of approximately 5000 students. The Coordinator of Veteran Student Affairs is central to creating a welcoming and supportive environment at the University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College for student veterans. Reporting to the Director of Student Engagement, the Coordinator of Veteran Student Affairs is responsible for educational outreach and programmatic initiatives that both support student veterans and enhance campus awareness of student veteran related issues. Responsibilities include assisting with recruitment of veterans, serving as a liaison with both the Clifton campus Veteran's Programs and Services Office and the Veteran's Administration, in addition to implementing and managing programs, events and services for student veterans and the larger campus community. The Coordinator of Veteran Student Affairs will also support and participate in the programs and initiatives of other Student Life functional areas.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 1 year experience; OR associate degree with 3 years experience; OR 5 years experience. Experience must be in program coordination.
The ideal candidate will have previous military experience. Other ideal qualifications are: Demonstrated knowledge of veteran educational benefits; demonstrated experience working with and advising veterans, preferably in an educational or academic setting; knowledge of and familiarity with the sociology and experience of veterans; ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse faculty, student and staff population and external constituencies; comfortable with the use of technology including Microsoft Office applications and social media.
