The Program Coordinator will be a member of a professional team for Student Organizations and Campus Events within the Department of Student Activities and Involvement, Division of Student Affairs. The mission of the Department of Student Activities and Involvement is to provide the foundation for student organizations and their initiatives, facilitate activities and engagement opportunities, and advise, mentor, and educate students to maximize their UF experience. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for providing support, training, and oversight for involvement in, and successful operation of, student organizations and other opportunities for involvement. Duties shall include advising student organizations and assisting with their programming initiatives, developing a comprehensive student organization officer program, and coordinating the marketing efforts for the department. The Department of Student Activities and Involvement registers nearly 1,000 student organizations annually and approves over 4,000 on-campus event permits for these organizations each year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive support services for registered student organizations and student organization advisors.
Manage the coordination and implementation of the student organization registration process.
Create, implement, and assess a comprehensive training program for student organization officers on topics including, but not limited to:
University regulations and policies, officer roles and responsibilities, program and event planning, risk management and liability, finances for registered student orgs, and goal setting.
Develop and implement individual student and student organization recognition programs.
Serve as advisor and provide oversight for specific student organizations and employees as assigned.
Serve as the advisor to the SAI Involvement Team (ITeam), involvement ambassadors for the Department of Student Activities and Involvement.
Serve as SAI programming advisor for one or more cultural organizations.
Serve as primary SAI advisor for a designated group of student organizations, providing support related to programming and operations.
Provide supervision and training for student assistant(s) as designated.
Serve as a resource and provide general assistance to student leaders on various issues affecting student organizations and events at the University of Florida.
Interpret university policies for students, student organizations, and campus partners related to co-curricular involvement at the university.
Advise student leaders and organization advisors on issues and policies affecting student organizations, including but not limited to: use of university facilities and other resources, organization registration, developing and interpreting the organization’s constitution, and student leader eligibility requirements.
Assist in coordination and implementation of the student organization data management system and registration process through Gator Connect.
Assist with administrative functions of the Department of Student Activities and Involvement
Develop, conduct, and analyze research and assessments for various programs and services of the Department of Student Activities and Involvement such as programming needs assessment, effectiveness of programs and services including outcomes assessment and student satisfaction.
Advise and assist the department in strategic planning and in meeting the service and educational objectives of the unit.
Assist with budget planning and reporting. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ensure proper procedures, controls, and financial guidelines for all areas including organization expenditures.
Participate in University and/or Student Affairs Committees as assigned.
Develop reports, handle special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience
